Greetings from Pastor Leah
November 2017
Park Avenue Members & Friends,
The trees are finally starting to change and it’s feeling like fall! We are in the thick of the Meet and Greets and I have really enjoyed getting to know those of you who have attended. There’s been a lot of laughter, a lot of great reflection, and a deep sense that we have a lot to be grateful for now and a lot to look forward to together.
I’ve asked those attending two questions: 1) What drew you to PACC/what keeps you here? and 2) What are your hopes and dreams for PACC for the next 3 to 5 years? Put another way, what would be happening at PACC that would let you know God’s love is actively making a difference in our faith community and in the community at large?
One thing that has consistently shown up in these conversations is how caring and welcoming PACC is. This is part of PACC’s “normal,” so you may not know how special it is; you can’t teach the feeling of warmth you get walking into a PACC gathering, and a lot of churches don’t have it. As we start to think more about who we are and how we want the community to know us, I want to lift up the PACC welcome as a true treasure that we should celebrate and continue to share.
If you haven’t been able to attend a Meet and Greet, we plan to host another 2-3 gatherings in January. You don’t have to wait for a meet and greet to answer the above questions, though – send me an email, give me a call, or tell me in person about your thoughts!
Every day I thank God that I’ve been called to serve such a welcoming, enthusiastic, caring, and dedicated group of people. I am grateful for you, Park Avenue!
With joy and gratitude,
Leah
