What to Expect on Sunday Mornings

Online

To join us virtually on Sundays, use this link. Join us just before 10am to catch the prelude, or join any time during the service. The Zoom Meeting ID is 742 148 863.

In Person

Using our blessing hands to bless our backpacks at the beginning of the school year!

See our directions for getting to church. You can get to the church easily by foot, by car, by bus, and by T then bus. There is plenty of free parking on the street around the church.

Arrival

The service begins at 10:00am on Sunday morning, but many people arrive early to visit with friends near the entry or to listen to the prelude in the sanctuary.

When you arrive, you will be greeted by members of the congregation standing near the front door who have volunteered to welcome worshipers. The greeters will be happy to introduce you to someone who can tell you about the church and answer any questions you may have.

You can wear whatever makes you comfortable to church. Most people dress in an informal fashion; some dress up. There is no dress code.

Worship

The worship service generally lasts an hour. Worship includes a children’s time, an opportunity to pray together (you may request prayers out loud or in writing), scripture readings, and a sermon that wrestles with God’s message for us today.

We love music; during worship we sing two to three hymns together and enjoy anthems from the choir and, on third Sundays, from the youth choir. Communion is served the first Sunday of the month, and an informal communion is served immediately after church on the third Sunday of the month. All are welcome to participate in communion.

We end with a blessing and a postlude on the organ. Everyone is welcome to join us for coffee hour after worship!

Sunday school

Sunday school for children is available during the service. We invite children to attend the entire service, but most children stay through the children’s time, then go to their Sunday school classes for the last 45 minutes of the service. On first Sundays children are invited to participate in communion; they start the service downstairs in Sunday school and come up as a group in time for communion at the end of the service.

For adult spiritual growth, check out Bible Study. For adult fellowship, we offer everything from PACC Men to Game Night to a book group (Sarah’s Circle) to choir for the musically inclined. Check out our Fellowship Groups page for more information.

Coffee hour

Following worship, we gather either outside or in the parish hall for coffee hour including drinks and goodies provided by our wonderful hospitality team. Many people find coffee hour is a great time to connect to church friends and welcome visitors. Feel free to sit down at a table and introduce yourself!

See you soon!

We are looking forward to worshiping with you soon, either online or in person. Come to Park Avenue and Experience the Welcome!
