Vox Lucens

Join us for a special program of Renaissance Choral Music for the holiday season by our Artists in Residence, Vox Lucens. Under the direction of Holly Druckman, they will perform music from across Europe in a program that spans more than two hundred years of Renaissance music. The ensemble began in 1998 as a group of friends who got together to sing Madrigals for the enjoyment of it. Vox Lucens is Latin for “a shining voice” and refers to the ensemble’s sound as well as their desire to shed light on the wide variety of a cappella Renaissance repertoire with its rich polyphonic structures and luminous sound. An artists’ reception will follow the concert.

The Saxyderms

The Saxyderms, New England’s favorite saxophone ensemble, are a group of 10-12 saxophonists, supported by drums and percussion that has been performing in Boston and beyond since September 2006. They play an eclectic mix of jazz, rock, pop, folk, and classical music. Their mission is to spread the joy of music to as many people as possible with a particular interest in introducing young people to what their instrument can do. In this coffeehouse format concert, while the audience enjoys a range of beverages and delectable goodies for purchase, this fabulous group will entertain you with their own arrangements and medleys of songs from popular artists and epic movie soundtracks.
