Children's Programs

Children are an important part of PACC. Throughout the year, we offer Crib Room Care for children up to age two during our Sunday morning worship service. We believe that families should have the opportunity to worship together for part of the morning, so children age two and older attend the first 15 minutes of the Sunday morning worship service with their parents. Following the Children's Corner segment of the service, children are dismissed to attend Sunday School. The Sunday School classes run from approximately 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. During the school year we have five classes grouped according to age. The Beginner' s Class is for 3-5 year olds. We also have a Kindergarten-First Grade Class, a Second-Third grade class, a Fourth-Sixth grade class and a Seventh-Ninth grade class. During the summer we offer two multi-age classes, one for younger children and one for older children. The classes are taught by volunteers. We offer a Confirmation Class for youth in ninth grade as they prepare to become members of the church. Children are encouraged to participate in different service and mission projects. Past projects have included Trick or Treat for UNICEF, Souper Bowl of Caring (collecting canned goods and money for the Arlington Food Pantry) and raising money to purchase livestock through the Heifer Project. We have a youth choir for children in fifth grade and up. The younger children meet with a music teacher during their Sunday School classes on a regular basis.

We encourage children to be part of our church community in a number of ways. In December, the children participate in our Christmas Pageant. In June, the children participate in our Children's Sunday worship service. We also hold an All-Church picnic in June. Throughout the year, children are invited to participate in the worship service by serving as acolytes, welcomers and liturgists. The children also contribute by singing and playing musical instruments during the service.
