Christmas Traditions – PACC’S 26th Annual Christmas Concert and Carol Sing, Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 3 PM

Christmas Stockings

Start your holiday season with a musical treat: an audience sing-along of some well-known carols. Then sit back  and enjoy a variety of familiar, traditional Christmas music (and some surprises) as performed by PACC’s Festival and Youth Choirs and soloists under the direction of Artists in Residence performers/choir directors Jeffrey Brody and Andrea Hart.  Take a step back in time as our special guests, Artists in Residence a capella early music group, Vox Lucens, present hauntingly ethereal Early Christmas music.  Stirring brass voluntaries performed by PACC’s Principal Trumpet, Phil Sullivan will begin and end the concert.  A Free Will Donation will be taken.

A Post-Concert Artists’ Reception will be held in the Parish Hall.  Please refer to our Artists in Residence page for more information about the performers in the Christmas Concert: https://www.pacc-ucc.org/artists-in-residence/

PACC’s Artist in Residence, Andrea Hart, a member of The Mudville Madrigal Singers, a 10-voice a cappella ensemble, will bring the group back to our Series for a spring evening concert. This versatile ensemble will perform madrigals from England, France, Italy and Germany, as well as music of Ralph Vaughan Williams, Stephen Chatman, Gerald Finzi, and Stephen Paulus. Lively arrangements of African American spirituals and favorite songs of George Gershwin will round out the musical offerings.  The group draws its name from the historic “Mudville” neighborhood of Holliston, Massachusetts, home to its founding members.  Currently the group’s singers hail from several greater Boston communities, and their performance calendar includes appearances across the state. The ensemble has been praised for their sumptuous blend, diverse programing, and engaging manner with their audiences. A Post-Concert Artists’ Reception will be held in the Narthex.
