2009-2010 Concert Season

Judith Braude, flutist and Jeffrey Brody, pianist – Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 3 PM

A former Boston Conservatory flute faculty member Judith has appeared with the NJ State Opera Orchestra, New Bedord Symphony, Merrimack Valley Philharmonic and has collaborated with Jeffrey Brody often. In 2008, she, Jeffrey Brody and Alan Hawryluk (Music Director of the Salem Philharmonic) received a commission from the Brannen-Cooper fund for Mr. Brody to compose a full-length Flute Concert for Judith and the Salem Philharmonic: the World Premiere was performed in January 2009 at the Salem Philharmonic under the composer’s direction. 19th Annual Christmas Concert – Sunday, December 6, 2009 at 3 PM

The PACC Festival Choir presents a varied holiday program with selections from Bach’s Christmas Oratorio and other choral and instrumental selections, and invites the audience to join in some Christmas carol singing. Trumpet and Organ Concert with Christopher J. O’Hara, Trumpet and Mark Engelhardt, Organ – Sunday February 7, 2010 at 3 PM

By the age of 16, Mr. O’Hara had already formed his first brass quintet and performed several concerts throughout the greater Chicago area; at 17, he was accepted to The Boston Conservatory and formed his second brass quintet, the Synergy Brass Quintet. He has performed extensively throughout the United States, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, and the Federation of Russia and with distinguished artists including the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, The Boston Pops, and Natalie Cole. An Afternoon with David Cangelosi in Concert: Opera, to Art Song to Broadway – with Jeffrey Brody, Pianist and Long-Time Collaborator – Sunday March 28, 2010 at 3 PM

We are extremely excited to welcome celebrated tenor David Cangelosi with a program of classical and popular songs. In 2004, Mr. Cangelosi made his Metropolitan Opera debut as Mime in Das Rheingold, conducted by James Levine. Other performances have included Fidelio (Jacquino) with the Cincinnati Symphony, Pang with the Columbus Symphony, Prunier in La Rondine with the Boston Lyric Opera and First Jew in Salome with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood under Maestro Ozawa.   In the 17 years of their close professional collaboration, this will be Mr. Cangelosi’s first public performance with his pianist and composer friend Jeffrey Brody .
