Easter Week Services

Join us for the holy week of Easter at Park Avenue Congregational Church in Arlington Heights.  You can read about services and celebrations below.  You can get more information about the church and directions to the church on our web site.

Palm Sunday, March 29

Pancake breakfast Join us for pancakes, sausage, bacon and fruit on Palm Sunday!  The youth groups will host and serve the pancake breakfast from 8:30-9:30am in Parish Hall.  Cost is $6 for adults, $5 for children, and $20 family maximum.  All proceeds benefit the youth fund.

Worship Service Worship begins at 10:00am and includes the Blessing of the Palms as we commemorate Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem.

Maundy Thursday, April 2

A Tenebrae service celebrating Jesus’ Last Supper begins at 7:30pm.  It will include Holy Communion and lessons accompanied by the gradual extinguishing of lights.

Good Friday, April 3, Calvary Church

Service of Tenebrae: A dramatic commemoration of Jesus’ last hours with scripture, candles, and music.  At Calvary Church, United Methodist, 300 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington.

Easter Sunday, April 5

Easter Sunrise Service A community Easter Sunrise Service will be held at 6:10am at Robbins Farm Park, across Eastern Avenue from the Brackett School, to welcome the sun and the Risen  Son with prayer, liturgy, and song.  All are welcome. Co-organized by Park Avenue Congregational Church and Calvary Church, United Methodist.

Celebration of the Resurrection A celebration of the resurrection of Jesus will be held at 10:00am.  A brass quartet will join our organ and Festival Choir.  There will not be Sunday school classes.  Child care will be available for children aged five and younger.  Older children will receive activity bags.

Easter Egg Hunt An Easter egg hunt will be held after the service!
